I've been online since college (oh dear - puhLEEZ don't ask me to tell you how long ago that was; let's just leave it at audible dialup, k?) and I watched the Net mature from simple communication to what it is now: an Information Revolution.

There's a lot of junk out there, no doubt. I wade through spam every day and roll my eyes when my Google searches for innocent information come back with adult links mixed in with the authentic links.

But what I've seen over the last few years as blogging and social media exploded is a change for the better. I truly believe that there is much good being added to the Web every day, and just as importantly, there is the potential for even greater good in the future.

Not only is the Web changing the face of media and big business, it's offering anyone with an entrepreneurial bone in their body a place to find their niche. Moms at home now have more and more options for earning income while raising their children.

The impact of the Information Revolution on education for all is unmeasurable because it keeps growing each day. It used to be if you wanted to learn about something new for free, you headed to your local library. Now all you need is Google and some spare time.

But the best part of the Net is the ability to share ideas with other people, to build community and connections where none could have existed before.

I'm blessed to be participating in what is good online as well as blessed to bear witness to this Information Revolution. I hope that the good continues to outweigh the bad as we move forward online.

Have a post about how you feel blessed you'd like to share? Please feel free to use the Mr. Linky to share your Blessed Am I post; if you don't have a post and just want to share in a comment, that's just peachy, too!
