Let's Go Krogering! Thursday, April 30, 2009

Hi there, happy readers!

Let's Go Krogering! is late this week; apologies if you've been looking to link up your own fantastic Kroger or Kroger-affliated store finds!

It's almost May and I think my clock and calendar are conspiring against me - there is just so much going on this coming month as school winds down and spring sports blast off at full speed. Add to that all the fun events that happen on May weekends and *BOOM!* life gets busy fast!

I'm going to scale back a bit what I'm posting here each week to accomodate the realities of my life as Mom; I'll be updating my schedule later tonight.

Alrighty - let's get down to the Krogering!

My trip, Tuesday, April 28:

Spent: $118.11
Saved: $68.33 or 36%

As I noted in my weekly meal plan right here, I'm cooking doubled up menus all this week and freezing the extras for next week so I'll have one less thing to fit into my schedule.

While my total is high for this week (yowsa!), I know I'll come in low next week since my dinners for the week are already in the freezer. I'm also hoping to see another super-duper sale at Kroger in early May...fingers crossed, right?!

Best finds:

:: Milk: $1.75 gallon (This is a great price -- time to make some waffles or pancakes for the freezer!)

:: Barilla Piccolini Pasta, $1.39 ea
--> Used $0.50/1, SS 03/29, doubled to $1.00
Final price for me: $0.39 ea

:: Bumblebee Tuna Pouch, $1.49 ea
--> Used $0.55/1, SS 02/22, doubled to $1.00
Final price for me: $0.49 ea

How'd you do at your Kroger or Kroger-affiliated store this week? Share your success and your deals - they might help another reader!

**As always, please add a link back to my Let's Go Krogering! post in your Krogering post and be sure that you add your post's permalink to the Mr. Linky so everyone else can find your deals (rather than just linking back to your blog's homepage). Need help doing this? Email me and I'll walk you through it!**

  1. WOW! You got so much! We don't have a Korgers here in Northern VA, but I am so amazed at your savings! AND, your milk for $1.XX/gal goes on my wish-list! If only....I have two toddlers who drink through 2 gals/week. I think I should buy a cow sometimes.
    Currently, my stockpile is so full I am not grocery shopping at all except for Korean cuisine items. (My family is Korean and we eat tons of kimchee.) But I certainly love your make double and freeze a week of meals idea. Did you post your menu? I'd love to take a peek! Thanks for sharing your shopping sucesses.
