This feature is posted every Tuesday by 5:00 AM EST with a Mr. Linky at the bottom if you'd like to add your link to your own post about what deals you found at your local Kroger or Kroger-affiliated store. Please click here to read the rules; the html code for the 149x149 button is in my sidebar.
Feel free to link up to this all week and share the good deals you find at your local Kroger or Kroger-affiliated store! As always, please add a link back to me in your Krogering post. Not sure how to do this? Just email me and I'll walk you through it!
Not too many great sales at Kroger this week, but there are some decent deals to be found. I can't tell you enough how hopeful I am for another Mega Sale at Kroger; my cereal stockpile is finally gone.
Kroger, we love you - bring the deals!
My Kroger Trip, Monday, June 1, 2009:
Saved: $42.41, or 36%
(Not pictured: snacks for my son's t-ball game tomorrow night that were about $6.50 of my total.)
If you're looking at the picture and scratching your head wondering just how I'll feed my family of five on that for this week (three of whom are genetically destined to be tall like their 6'4" dad), that's understandable. It looks a little sparse even to my eyes.
Because I shop with an eye toward stockpiling freebies or cheabies (so cheap they might as well be free; thanks, Erin, for the funky term!) that my family uses regularly, I don't need to get *everything* each week. For example, last week I stockpiled some of the Smart Balance 50/50 Butter Sticks; they were $0.99 with a coupon. I have them in my extra freezer and I won't need to buy that item for a while.
Couponing works best when you adopt a stockpiling mentality - buy items when they're on sale with coupons to lower the price even more. Everyone has certain items they use week in and week out; start noting which items you buy weekly and always run out of and you'll have a good idea of what to start stockpiling for you and your family.
I'll be talking more about stockpiling this summer; right now, let's move onto the deals I found today at Kroger!
