I've spent so much time outdoors with my kids this past week and it's not been at the pool; here in the greater Cincy area, we've experienced some record cool temperatures this July and I have been LOVING it.

During the summer, the days are sooooo long when you're an at-home mom. My kids rise early with the sun (my oldest son who's six is always up around 6:30) and they go-go-go all day long until the sun starts to dip toward the hills which in my neck of the woods is almost 9:00 pm. None of my kids nap regularly anymore so my days are just as go-go-go, too.

When the summer weather is it's usual scorching, humid mess, my three get irritable (who doesn't?!) and bored with waiting out the heat indoors during the peak of the afternoon. But this week we've been able to just play outdoors all day without feeling like sweaty human sponges and they've all benefited from it.

Even as I type this post, my windows are wide open and the cool breeze is floating through my house. My frugal self is equally delighted at the thought of lower energy bills this month, too!

Days like these make me wish summer lasted forever; it doesn't, of course, but I sure feel blessed to spend these days playing with my kids.

I hope you feel blessed in some way - big or small - this week!
