Hip Hip Hurray Giveaway | (2) $25 Gift Cards to Kroger! (Ends 03/14)

It's Monday - who wants to start the week with a giveaway? ;-)

If you've been reading this blog for any length of time (and *thank you* for reading, btw), you might have noticed that I love going Krogering!

Unlike many of you out there reading this post, I don't have fond memories of going Krogering with my mom; I grew up in Maryland and fell in love with an Ohio boy and his Buckeye state when we were in college. What I love about Ohio is also what I love about Kroger: both are family-friendly, value-driven, and community oriented.

As a blogger, I've been privileged to work with Kroger in the past year; Andrea, Marcy and I were part of a video panel last October and I've been blessed to be able to share Kroger gift card giveaways with you while also sharing some of their newest promotions, too.

In February, I (along with several rockin' awesome bloggers from the greater Cincy area) was invited to chat with the interactive media team from Kroger. We also had the chance to participate in their latest money saving program, the Kroger and Shell Fuel Program. You can now use your Kroger points to save on gas at local participating Shell stations; click here to find one close to you.

The history of Kroger is entertwined with the history of Cincinnati - not only is Kroger headquartered here, the company was founded here in Cincinnati in 1883 by Bernard Kroger. Kroger has fed and employeed generations of local families and now you can find Kroger stepping into the social media space.

If you're on twitter, you can follow @KrogerDeals and @KrogerCo for updates. You can always find your local Kroger ad here and oodles of promotions and coupons. And you can fan them on Facebook, too.

Onto the giveaway!

I've been graciously given (2) $25 Kroger gift cards to give away to (2) lucky winners!

How to enter:

Let's make this fun - leave a comment telling us a favorite Kroger memory or experience. Not in the mood to reminisce? Leave a comment about what you'd like to see Kroger do next or do better online, either at their site, on Twitter, or on Facebook.

You can earn an additional (3) chances to win as well.

1. Tweet about this giveaway (be sure to add @KrogerCo and/or @KrogerDeals to your tweet) then come back here and leave me a separate comment to let me know you tweeted (add the url from your tweet please).

2. Fan Kroger on Facebook and post a link to this giveaway on their wall. Leave me a comment letting me know you've done this. (Already a fan? Just leave post this giveaway link on their wall and leave a comment letting me know you did.)

3. Subscribe to my RSS feed by reader or email and leave a separate comment to let me know you're a new subscriber; you can also drop me a separate comment to let me know if you're already a subscriber for this extra entry.

Remember, you MUST leave me some way to find you online (by email or by your Twitter handle) if you don't have a blog - and if you do have a blog that is not public, be sure to leave me a means of contacting you. Entries with no contact information or means of contacting you online will be disqualified.

This giveaway will end on SUNDAY, March 14, 2010, at 10:00 pm EST . I will announce the winners (selected by Random.org) on MONDAY, March 15, 2010.

Good luck!

*DISCLOSURE: I received a $25 gift card to Kroger as well as a free fill up of gasoline for my van, Claudine. Yup, that's right, my van has a name. ;-) For more about my personal disclosure policy, read my disclosure page.

'old times" (she's 22), she always brings up shopping at Ralphs and how special they made her feel. Oh, youth!

  37. Some of the best memories I have of Kroger is renting tons of videos there back when I was younger because nobody ever went there so they always had all the new releases, plus their prices were always lower than the big chain video stores. It was a sad day in my house when they got rid of their video rentals.
    Thanks for the opportunity.

  47. I'd never been to Kroger until we moved to Virginia so I don't really have lng ago memories.

Before I criticize I like to start out with positives first. It takes a little of the sting out of the critcism.

Kroger has THE best and most affordable organic section for fruit. I LOVED picking up organic apples for $1.25 a pound. I also love buying their fruit bowls with pre chopped fruits. They aren't overwhelmingly frugal but they are a nice treat for winter when buying a thing of 4 different types of berries would be costly. I also appreciate that they reall seem to be trying to connect with us, the customer(disclosure:I won one of their card for the boxtop giveaway which totally thriled me)

Okay, no for the medicinal section. My store always seem to be out of AT LEAST one item every time I go there. I've practically given up on gettng Purna Dog Chow there. They've been out of chocolate chex(a cartbuster)twice now(I went on Sunday and Monday) . We are talking on a SUNDAY, one day into the new sale. It's very frustrating.

Overall though, I really do enjoy Krogering and am super excited about the SUPER KROGER they built in Blacksburg(cheese glorious specialty cheese).

    Thanks for the opportunity.

  67. I used to think Kroger was too expensive--until I started couponing this past summer! Kroger has quickly become my favorite grocery store. My 3YO loves pushing the "little carts" and stopping by the bakery for a free cookie. I love how many OYNO catalina deals Kroger always has running, and I love getting the catalina coupons for items I purchase on a regular basis. I just started receiving customer loyalty coupons in the mail from Kroger as well, and they are high dollar, have long expiration dates and usually match up with current or upcoming sales! Sometimes I even get a coupon for a free item, which is of course the best gift you can ever give a couponer! I heart Kroger and TheNewFrugalMom, which I have been following via email since December!

  82. How about a funny and embarrassing memory at Krogers?

Years ago my almost two year old was sitting in the front of the cart while were shopping at Krogers. I had placed a package of frozen veggies in the back of the cart. Well as I was looking for a flavor of ice cream my daughter had reached around and grabbed the frozen veggies and started chewing on them through the bag. The store manager was walking by just as I was trying to take them from her. He mentioned that was one way for her to get her veggies!! I explained to him that she was teething and he laughed so hard.He then reached around me and grabbed a box of frozen Push-Ups, opened the box and gave my daughter one. He said this would cool her gums. I was so grateful to him and impressed. He passed out the rest of the Push-Ups to other children at the store. Isn't that a great manager!!!
