What I Saved at the Stores {Week 10 of 2010}

Each Saturday, I detail what I spent and saved at the stores; this weekly post is my way of keeping myself on track for my weekly budget goals in 2010.

I hope that by sharing what I saved that you'll be inspired to keep couponing week in and week out.  Over time, your stockpile of high-use items for your family will grow and your total weekly bill will keep coming down, down, down!

What I Saved at the Stores: Week 10 (March 8-14)

Kroger (03/08)

Spent: $30.19
Saved: $19.39 (39%)

To see the full breakdown of the coupons I used and to read the links of what other bloggers saved at their Kroger this week, read my weekly Let's Go Krogering! post.

Kroger (3/12/10)
I made a second trip after the coupons I'd ordered from my favorite clipping service arrived on Friday.  All that pasta?  FREE!  Can I get a WOOT?!!
(Also, I needed fuel for my coffee addiction!)

Spent: $3.05
Saved: $18.62 (86%)

Aldi (03/08)
(Eggs were still $0.59/doz and milk was still $1.29/gal!)

Spent: $17.31
Saved: $0.00

CVS (3/8/10)
(Great deal on Kellogg's cereal this week!)

Spent: $5.29 oop + used $4.00 ECBs
Saved: $13.56 (72%)
Earned: $5.00 ECBs on Kellogg's cereal

Walgreens (3/11/10)
(Another great cereal stock up deal! And I bought the candy bar to help
 my fave cashier - they were having a sales contest.)

Spent: $4.46 oop + $5.00 RRs
Saved: $31.16 (87%)
Earned: $3.00 RRs on Post Cereal

(I also grabbed some dog food at Kroger on Sunday, 3/7.)
Spent: $13.03
Saved: $7.50 (33%)

--------++++++++++++--------

Weekly Totals
Spent:
$74.92

Saved: $90.23 (55%)

My weekly goal for my grocery/household budget is $80/week. Last week, I was a over budget by $23.  I came under budget for this week, even including taking a quick spin through Kroger (after selling Girl Scout cookies last Saturday) for Iams Dog Food.  I'm still over budget for the past two weeks by about $18; I think I'll have no problem getting back on track for the month and with the upcoming March to Savings promotion starting Monday, 3/15, at Kroger.  I have a feeling I'll be hauling home the deals!

If you're new to the fabulous world of keeping more of your hard earned money in your pockets by strategic couponing and drugstore shopping, I encourage you to read these posts to help you get started.
