Meal Plan Monday | Summer is Winding Down

I plan my family's dinners in five week blocks to maximize my savings at the grocery store and minimize my stress at dinner time. You can read more about my strategy here in my Q&A post here.

I also answered several more questions about how I plan my big ol' menus and how I shop for them.  For more Q&A (because you're just dying to know, right?), click here.

The first week of August is here and our summer is winding down. My two oldest go back to school on the 26th and between now and then we have a slew of fun things planned, including our vacation and our church's festival. The days will fly by, I'm sure.

I've taken a break from my big meal plans this summer because our schedule has been lighter and easier meaning I can throw things together on the fly. But with the start of the school year looming, I'll be planning a big 5 Week Menu Plan that will start August 23rd.

Until then, I'm going to keep enjoying taking it easy! 8-)

Here's what's for dinner this week:

Monday: Cincinnati Chili, Salad, Veggie Sticks

Tuesday: Taco night (ground beef for the kiddos and these fish tacos (recipe here) for my hubs and I. {I've made these several times this summer -- they are sooooo good!}

Wednesday: Awesome Pot Roast, Egg Noodles, Salad

Thursday Leftovers

Friday: Grilled Chicken & Caesar Salad Wraps, Grilled Zucchini

Saturday Free Night!

Sunday: Brown Sugar Meatloaf, Potato Salad, Veggie Sticks
