Menu Plan Monday | October Menu Plan

I plan my family's dinners in five week blocks to maximize my savings at the grocery store and minimize my stress at dinner time. You can read more about my strategy here in my Q&A post here.

I also answered several more questions about how I plan my big ol' menus and how I shop for them.  For more Q&A (because you're just dying to know, right?), click here.

Last week, our house was dealing with the stomach flu; while I had a week of dinners planned, our diet was mostly bread, crackers, and water.  ;-)

I've planned our menu through the end of October and I will be planning in monthly blocks from here on out (and hoping that all of us have enough appetite to eat again!)

Here's what's for dinner at my house this month:

October 11-17
Monday: Grilled Chicken over Salad with Black Bean Salsa (mmm!)
Tuesday: Taco night
Wednesday: Caramel Apple Pork Chops, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans
Thursday:  Homemade Chicken Nuggets, Mac&Cheese,  Carrots and Celery
Friday: Pizza with Copycat Pizza Hut Crust from my bread machine
Saturday: Free night!
Sunday: Leftovers

October 18-24
Monday: Awesome Pot Roast, Buttered Noodles, Steamed Veggies
Tuesday: Taco night
Wednesday: New Orleans Corn Bisque with Smoked Sausage, Cheesy Cornbread Muffins
Thursday: Breakfast for dinner
Friday: Beef Enchiladas (just substituting left over pot roast from Monday for the chicken in the recipe)
Saturday: Free night!
Sunday: Cincinnati Chili (I make it from scratch with the Gold Star spice packet; it makes enough for me to divide and freeze half for a future dinner.)

October 25-31
Monday: Mini Cheeseburgers, French Fries, Carrot and Celery Sticks
Tuesday: Taco night
Wednesday:Baked Pork Chops, Buttered Noodles, Corn
Thursday: Leftovers
Friday: Smoked Sausage Oktoberfest, Steakhouse Black Bread
Saturday: Free night
Sunday: Black Bean and Corn Quesadillas, Apple Cider, (and I'm just guessing...too much Halloween candy!)
