In keeping with the KISS theme I've got going on in 2011 (which is kind of my theme for the year in all aspects of my life), I'm rolling out a new weekly publishing schedule. You can check it out right here (just scroll to the bottom of the page).
A publishing schedule helps both me and you. Me, because it helps me plan ahead (which is advanced tactics in KISS strategy - plan for success!); you, because it lets you know what to expect around here.
On Wednesdays, I'll be sharing a Create post. I have (12) simple DIY projects - one for each month - that I'll be sharing with you in this weekly post.
On the first Wednesday of the month, I'll announce the DIY project; the following two to three Wednesdays, I'll post updates on how it's going. The last Wednesday, I'll let you know how the finished product turned out (see - there's that 'planning for success' thing again; I'm convincing myself that I will finish one project a month!).
To make it even more fun, I'll be adding vlogs to these Create posts. My friend Andrea over at Savings Lifestyle has a new vlog linkup she's starting this year called In 80 Seconds. I figured I could kill two birds with one stone - support her efforts plus push myself outside of my comfort zone.
My first one is below; be kind, y'all. I did this in two takes (KISS) and the lighting isn't so great. And it's about twice as long as 80 seconds. ;-) I do like to ramble on....

:: I like this clean and simple sewing corner at Gwenny Penny. It makes me wonder if maybe I should set up my sewing corner upstairs instead of the basement.
:: Lots and lots of great reader contributed tips in this post over at Thrifty Fun.
:: OrgJunkie has several great posts about organizing (of course!) craft spaces and supplies; this one shows some great before & after shots.
:: All I can say about this sewing/craft area at Sew Organized is W.O.W. I am both inspired and intimidated. ;-)
Do you have a sewing or craft space? What's your advice for me?

Awesome, Mare! I'm trying to get a craft station set up. I'll be channeling my craftiness this year and hope not to super glue my fingers to anything! Can't wait to see your next video!
ReplyDelete@Andrea Thx! I need to hire my own in-house videographer - lol!
