I plan my family's dinners in five week blocks to maximize my savings at the grocery store and minimize my stress at dinner time. You can read more about my strategy here in my Q&A post here.
I also answered several more questions about how I plan my big ol' menus and how I stockpile shop the weekly sales with coupons; my goal is to get the best deals on items for my monthly menu plan for the lowest cost. For more Q&A (because you're just dying to know, right?), click here.
I love menu planning (I think you probably know that about me by now if you've been a reader for a while) because I love saving both time and money. I think I missed my calling in life as an efficiency engineer. ;-)
While I did plan a menu for March 2011, I didn't get it published last week nor am I posting it this week.
Because it's much of the same old thing you've likely seen before; meals planned based on our busy schedule and using My MELLY.
What I want to do - what I've wanted to do for a while now but have lacked the time and willpower to get it done - is create a simple database of recipes that I use to generate my menu plans then publish it here for you to use.
Unfortunately, GoogleDocs - my fave way to share documents online - doesn't support databases (well, you kind of can build a data base on one of their spreadsheets but it's a little too involved for me - that whole "time & willpower" thing).
However, I think I've found a pretty good alternative idea and I'll be working on it this week and next week with the hopes of sharing it with you by the last Monday of the month. My hope is that I can simplify both my life and your life by working smarter, not harder. Simple is good!
Have a wonderful Monday!
