Coffee & Clicks | May 14, 2011 {Edition #17: Utterly Random!}

Welcome to Coffee & Clicks, my weekly roundup of posts from my Google Reader and beyond that caught my eye, that made me think, and that just made me laugh.

Coffee & Clicks is my way of sharing those interesting posts with you.  If you find yourself with a few minutes of leisure to surf on the weekends while you sip your coffee (or whatever fills your mug), feel free to wander through this list of posts and spend some time reading, reflecting, and relaxing.

:: I loved this post by Jen over at Conversion Diary about how Life Doesn't Have to Be Easy to Be Joyful.  She's speaking from a spiritual place (which rings true with me) but I think the core message can be applied to frugal living and personal finance as well.  Sometimes it can be hard work getting your budget tamed and fighting the ever-present messages to "go with the flow" or "you deserve it!" of our consumer culture; the best joys in life are ones that come from having a sense of purpose and from living a life filled with meaning...not stuff.

:: Bible Money Matters has an interesting post up this week about A Money Lesson From John Wesley,  which takes a look at his ideas on earning, saving, and giving money.  Funny how lessons from the 1700's still make sense even today.

:: I've been watching the rain come down, down, down here in SW Ohio and thinking it will make for good garden-fresh veggies from a local CSA this summer.  (FYI, my small garden corner in my yard is destined to be replanted this fall in shade-loving shrubs.).  Check out the listings at Local Harvest if you're interested in buying a share of fresh produce from a local farm.

:: Last, my friend Andrea at Mommy Confessions Blog has proven that she's a braver mom than me -she's raising chicks!  And they're all over her house!  My bird dog Brownie would sooooo love this idea....!

Have a wonderful weekend!
