Let's Go Krogering! | Week of January 3, 2012 ($4/4 P&G Sale + Buy 4 Kashi/Special K, Get FREE Gallon of Milk!)

Wondering what's the deal with my weekly Let's Go Krogering! (LGK!) posts?  Click here for more information.

Read on to see what deals I found at my Kroger this week...

My Kroger Trip, Tuesday, January 3, 2012

Spent: $81.13
Saved: $40.28 (33%)

The Kroger sale ad begins today, Tuesday 1/3/12, in the greater Cincinnati/Dayton region rather than the usual Monday start due to yesterday's federal holiday.

A new year means lots of folks are making resolutions to eat healthier and lose weight.  As I've seen in past early January sale ads, Kroger is offering deals this week on healthy foods and vitamins supplements.  Notable "New Year's Resolution Deal" items this week are Special K cereals, bars, protein shakes, and crackers as well as Kashi Go Lean Crunch cereal: buy any (4) @ $2.99 ea and get a FREE gallon of Kroger milk; limit (2) FREE gallons of milk per purchase.

Also notable is the P&G deal offered through January 15, 2012: buy any (4) participating P&G brand items and get an instant $4 off at checkout.  This P&G sale only comes around every 3-4 months at Kroger so be sure to stock up on the P&G brands your family uses; there were many great coupons in the P&G insert from Sunday, 1/1/12, for participating items in this sale.  Time to stockpile and save!  (And yes, my crazy dog Brownie was very happy to see me toting those dog food bags in from the van!)

I had a number of recent Kroger mailer coupons that matched up to some Kroger brand and national brand items to be sure to check through your stash of mailer coupons before heading to the store.

I also received a TON of catalina coupons when I was checking out today.  Now that the first of the month is here in the new year, you should expect to see an uptick in the catalinas you receive.  Be sure to stash those in your coupon organization system as many of them will be $/off coupons for future sale items.
