Lawanna: You are so sweet to mention this! My friend Andrea@MommySnacks mentioned this option to me, too. I do have a GFS fairly close by, but it is out of the way from my *normal* route. I need to find the time to dash up there and grab a couple of pounds of yeast.

Thanks for sharing this tip -- I know it will help someone else, too; it's also good to know it's freezer safe.

Yeast - did you know you can buy a whole pound of yeast for about $3 at GFS, Sam's or Costco? My favorite is SAF Instant yeast for about $3 at GFS (www.gfs.com - midwest food service supply place open to the public). There's about 96 teaspoons in a pound of yeast. That makes it about 7cents/packet. I store yeast in a tupperware container in the freezer.
